The following nominees are presented in first name order.
Beth Kahn
I want to serve on the Phoenix Chapter Board to continue the great work the current board members have accomplished during the past four years. I have volunteered at many of the chapter dances and at the Phoenix competition and would be happy to invest my time in continuing to help the chapter achieve success. I enjoy taking on new challenges, and seeing projects through to their completion.
Bill Jackson
I have been attempting to learn ballroom dancing for about a year and have been a member of USA Dance since March, 2008. My interest at this time is primarily social dancing, although I do respect people who have a desire to compete and put in the work necessary to do so effectively. I have experience on other boards not related to USA Dance. My academic background is mathematics and business administration and my working career has been primarily in software engineering and engineering project management. If elected to the board maybe I can bring some organizational skills if needed.
Cheryl Leggett
My husband Zoar and I have competed in dance extensively through out the US and have won many Pre-Champ and Championship events over the years. Outside of the dance world I'm a Payroll Tax Specialist with an HR & Payroll organization. I'm the President of our 25 home Home Owners Association board of directors.
My ambition for our local USA Dance Phoenix chapter is to help move them more into the competition aspect of ballroom dancing. Yes, while my heart is in the competition arena I also want to maintain a good Social Dance atmosphere which is the majority of our membership in our Chapter.
Felix Ray
Felix has been a supporter of USA Dance for over 13 years and a ballroom dancer/competitor for the last six years He is currently a Director-at-large on the Board of Directors as well as an active committee volunteer, serving as the Phoenix chapter’s Competition Chairman on the Competition and Special Events Committee, music director for the Social Dance Committee, and a dancer for the Outreach Committee. He would like to continue organizing quality special events for the USA Dance membership and the amateur local dance community.
Ray Palant
Ray Palant has been a board member of Phoenix USA Dance for
the past 4 years. He is also the Photographer and Dance Host
coordinator for the Chapter. He has been dancing for about 8 years.
Sharilyn Deerman
Sharilyn has been a board member since re-activation of the Phoenix Chapter and currently serves as Treasurer. She is the prior Outreach Committee Chair and Assistant Treasurer and has volunteered on other chapter committees as well. Ballroom dancer for 10 years and long-time Phoenix resident. Accounting professional with varied business experience and operated her own sole proprietorship. Sharilyn is committed to continuity of the Phoenix chapter and anticipates actively participating in its growth.
Sherry Parmon
Current Vice-President and Committee Coordinator of Phoenix USA Dance. Helped organize special events such as The Black Tie and
the chapter's dance competitions. She has been active in many volunteer organizations in the past. She enjoys social dancing and
especially enjoys the people she gets to meet.
